|
Features |
| Security is a key element in these types of devices.
The 7903 is based on a processor designed with security applications in
mind. This processor has the following attributes: |
- 128K of on Chip Memory
- 4K of on Chip Key Storage
- Addressing capability of up to 16M of external memory
- Physical/logical separation of security and AP memory
|
| The large external memory capability will allow storage
to support multiple device resident applications, handling multiple card
protocols concurrently. The device has intrusion detection, which when triggered
makes the unit inoperative. A privacy shield is part of the packaging, reducing
the risk of PIN compromise during user entry. |
| Included in the product is code to perform security
functions in compliance with: |
- ANSI X9.8 and IBM3624 PIN Block Processing
- ANSI X9.17 and X9.24 for Key Management (including UKPT and DUKPT)
- ANSI X9.19 for MACing
- Local PIN Offset Generation
- Local PIN Verification
|
| Several models are available, to provide basic or more
advanced card processing support. |

in accordance to ISO 7811 Standard. Card read is supported on both insertion
and re-moval to optimize read results. A multicolor indicator help to display
device status. This base configuration includes 128K bytes of memory for
user applications and a 2x16 character LCD display. |
- The Model QX-7903-2 is a hybrid device,
combining the functions of magnetic and ICC card processing. This model
offers program controlled card latching, desirable for smart card transactions,
512K bytes of memory for user applications and a stan-dard 4x20 LCD
display.
- The Model QX-7903-2 is a hybrid device,
combining the functions of magnetic and ICC card processing. This model
offers program controlled card latching, desirable for smart card transactions,
512K bytes of memory for user applications and a stan-dard 4x20 LCD
display.
- The Model QX-7903-3 extends the Model
2 to include Compliance to Mondex 3.0, with space for up to 3 SAM modules.
|
| Other options available on either the model QX-7903-2
or QX-7903-3 include: |
- An APA version of the LCD is available, to support graphics or complex
languages.
- A range of user memory sizes, up to 2 Megabytes
- Utilities to support generation of custom device resident applications
- Read all 3 track of magnetic stripe
|
| The Model QX-7903-1 can be powered
via the PC keyboard or mouse port, however the Models QX-7903-2
and QX-7903-3 require an external 9V power adapter.
|
| PC software is available to support: |
- Key Injection
- Download if new device resident applications
- PC application shells to support Mondex purse applications such as
purse selec-tion, balance inquiry transfer, lock/unlock, user authentication,
print, etc.
|
| Device drivers are provided to support Windows 95, 98 and
